Our History

Lethbridge Truck Terminals (LTT) was conceived in 1977 when Norman H Clauson the owner of Clauson Cartage, B-Line Fast Freight and Clauson Cold & Cooler built a 14,400 sq ft warehouse/terminal with 22 dock doors and 4 corner offices on 4.5 acres in the industrial area of North Lethbridge. This gave former B-Line employee Ken Wilkie the opportunity to start up Lethbridge Truck Terminals to provide local Cross Dock and P&D Service utilizing 4000 sq ft with an office area and 8 doors, sharing the terminal with multiple carriers including B-Line, Kingsway Transport, Inter-City Truck Lines, Robyn’s Trucking, Imperial Roadways, Byers Transport and Med-Alta / ExAlta Transport just to name a few.

In the summer of 1978, Dean Paisley had come off the highway as an owner operator for H&R Transport and had just moved his family from Calgary to Lethbridge and stepped into the H&R operations to work in the office as a dispatcher. Dean was familiar with LTT and had used their services and cross dock facilities from time to time. He appreciated the independence of the smaller operation and liked LTT’s local business model and over the years Dean maintained a business relationship with LTT and planted the seed a couple of times with Ken and his wife Diane, that he would be interested in purchasing the company if it ever came up for sale. He eventually got that call in the winter of 1988 and took over the ownership of LTT in spring of 1989.

At the time LTT had 4 main customers and consisted of 5 pieces of equipment including a t/a tractor; a s/a tractor; 1 – 45’ dry van trailer and 2 straight trucks with a total of 5 employees including Dean and his son Doug. They were local delivery agents for Inter-City and Robyn’s and moved loads of finished product across town from the Catelli Pasta Plant to the Decade Distribution Warehouse and operated the Canada Customs Bonded Sufferance Warehouse which utilized 4 of the 8 dock doors of they rented.

The operation expanded through the 1990’s when Dean started upgrading the equipment and adding trucks to run further distances and provide linehaul tractor service for specific customers and took on more square footage in the warehouse to accommodate higher volumes of freight and storage.
LTT Logistics is currently in our 37th year of business and continue to provide service to southern Alberta and well as western Canada and into the US. We have expanded the operations to include 60 trucks and 70 full time employees. While we are still working out of the original location, we have grown to almost 50,000 sq. ft of warehouse space, 29 dock doors and 8 acres of land.

2007
- Acquired Coaldale Transport and Turin Express from Bill Dyck. Continued to service both areas under the LTT brand.
2011
- Acquired Brensar Trucking from Bryan Cassidy.
2012
- Acquired Hi-Way 4 Express from Randy Wensmann. Continued to move freight between Lethbridge and Sweet Grass, MT.
2013
- Doug purchased LTT from Dean. Operation size at approximately 14 trucks, 30 trailers and 20 full-time employees.
2014
- Purchased the existing building and land from the Kenwood Family.
2015
- LTT set up daily interline services from Lethbridge to Cardston; Crowsnest Pass; Vulcan, and all points in between.
- Purchased pneumatic bulk trailers to begin hauling food grade commodities throughout Western Canada.
2016
- Expanded LTT’s ability for storage and handling by adding a 16,000 sq ft warehouse and cross dock facility.
- Purchase 1 acre of adjacent land for additional trailer parking.
2017
- Purchased Jay-Dan Transport which included the equipment, assets and customer list, from Darryl Visser. Expanded operations to run truckload freight to and from California and all points in between.
2018
- LTT added a 5000 sq ft shop, wash bay, and scale adjacent to the main terminal. Hired our own mechanics to service and maintain our equipment. Also added a new outdoor loading dock, with a ramp, and 4 dock levelers to original building.
- Acquired Taber Transport from Kei Nishida which was the final piece for LTT to provide daily Interline P&D service to all points within an approximate 75-mile radius from Lethbridge. This included primary and secondary routes on Highway’s 2, 3, 4 & 5; which cover North to Vulcan & Nanton; East to Taber & Vauxhall; West to Pincher Creek & The Crowsnest Pass; South to Sweet Grass & Cardston.
2019
- Purchased 1 acre of adjacent land for additional trailer parking
2020
- Purchased 1 acre of adjacent land for additional trailer parking. Expanded and renovated main office to accommodate more office staff.
2021
- Expanded storage space adding another 14,000 sq ft of warehouse.
2022
- Lethbridge Truck Terminals changed its name to LTT Logistics because “Logistics” is defined as “the process of planning and executing the efficient transportation and storage of goods from the point of origin to the point of consumption”, which perfectly describes what we do.
- Acquired RK Trailer Rentals from the Michaelis Family to expand operations into trailer rentals and mobile storage.
- Purchased the refrigerated trailers and customer list from Don Needham Trucking to expand the US temperature-controlled truckload operations.
2023
- Since 2013 (10 years) - LTT has grown the operation by roughly 40 power units, 300 trailers, and 50 full time employees. We continue to work out of the original 14,400 sq ft building and have added approx. 30,000 sq ft of new warehouse space and 4 acres of land for trailer parking.
2024
- Purchased the equipment, assets, and customer list from Manser Trucking to further expand the US temperature-controlled truckload operations.
2025
- LTT set up a new motor coach charter service division based out of Lethbridge to serve Southern Alberta sports & recreation teams, school districts, post-secondary schools, and other groups, by providing bus transportation for travel to and from their out-of-town games and events.
2026
- In 2026 Lethbridge Truck Terminals will have been in business for 49 years with The Wilke Family starting back 1977, and the Paisley Family taking over in 1989. LTT will continue to provide reliable supply chain management services, including trucking, warehousing, distribution and trailer rentals to Lethbridge, southern Alberta, western Canada and the US, while continuing to operate as a trusted, safety conscious, federally regulated carrier and logistics provider.
